COMUNIDAD
ART IS PRIME reconoce que el arte es una herramienta indiscutible para la transformación de sociedades. Trabajando mano a mano en comunidades se puede lograr grandes cambios. Por eso nuestra misión es brindarle a las comunidades marginadas y necesitadas la oportunidad de practicar las artes y aprender sobre su teoría. A través de los talleres de arte se trabaja la estimulación cognitiva en cada participante. ¡Muy importante para el aprendizaje!
El Sistema Educativo de Puerto Rico no ofrece los mejores estándares para la educación de las artes. Se percibe como una práctica no necesaria para la sociedad. Se ha demostrado que la educación en las artes es un fundamento esencial para la atención, concentración y la memoria de las personas. La persona esta expuesta a diferentes posibilidades, al descubrimiento y la libertad. Enseña a pensar de manera creativa para resolver problemas. Logra un desarrollo perceptivo y la coordinación entre los ojos y las manos.
Es por eso que ART IS PRIME ofrece la mejor alternativa como un servicio creativo y basado en el aprendizaje. Pretendemos atravesar estereotipos, barreras y prejuicios. ¡Queremos ser la organización más accesible en nuestras comunidades!
DESPUÉS DEL HURACÁN MARÍA
Después del trágico fenómeno natural del Huracán María, realizamos un taller de arte para la comunidad de Yauco. Una gran cantidad de niños se dieron cita para pasar un día lleno de arte, con entusiasmo y esperanza.
Decidimos trabajar el tema de la esperanza. Así que dibujamos un paisaje verde, que interpretara un nuevo Puerto Rico.
Éste fue nuestro primer taller de arte, el comienzo de ésta iniciativa.
ARTE EN LA CANTERA DE YAUCO
The Arte para Unir organization has the Yaucromatic project, which seeks mural artists to create murals throughout Yauco. The artist Samuel González Rodríguez created the iconic macromural in the Cantera sector, a marginalized community.
ART IS PRIME was invited to provide the community with a creative art workshop related to the famous macromural. Our goal was to make participants feel like part of this great work of art.
PINTANDO CON FAMILIAS
ESCAPE, the Family Strengthening Center, approached us to coordinate an art workshop for families in the town of Caguas. Our focus was on the assisted free theme. We talk about why art is important and how it helps us. All of our participants enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with the family.
NUESTROS ANCIANOS
ART IS PRIME participó de la actividad del mes del abuelo por la Oficina del Procurador de las Personas de Edad Avanzadas y su Programa de Abuelos Adoptivos. La mayoría de las personas de edad avanzada no tienen familiares. Los centros de cuidos y asilos se convierten en su nuevo hogar. Nosotros quisimos brindarle un taller de arte muy especial. Escuchamos sus anécdotas y demostraron su arte escondido.

ARTE EN CONTRA DEL CÁNCER
ART IS PRIME has created PINTO POR TI, a charity event for the American Cancer Society of Puerto Rico. Our goal was to invite children and adults to accompany us to paint a work of art in exchange for a donation to the organization. It was a beautiful event, full of great strength, hope, joy, enthusiasm, and creativity.
We have the mission to continue making PINTO POR TI, as a charity event for non-profit entities.
EL ARTE ES ESPERANZA
We work together with the social worker José Gabriel Muñiz at the Ponce Social Treatment Center, attached to the Department of Correction and Rehabilitation. At this institution, we visited a young inmate whose goal was to work the arts and be a tattoo artist. We had a very pleasant conversation where we shared ideas and discussed the plan to reach that goal.
It was a unique experience! We understand that the inclusion of the arts is important in prisons as a method of changing lives.

SUGAR FREE KIDS
The Sugar Free Kids Foundation approached us to participate in its charity event for children with diabetes. We took it upon ourselves to bring art to families in a fun and educational way. We talked about the importance of the arts and self-love for the works we do.
PORTAL DE AMOR
In Christmas 2018 ART IS PRIME decided to do a special activity for the Children's Shelter Home, Portal de Amor. A very moving activity where we provide help and paint as a family. The children painted and drew a lot.

INSTITUTO PONCEÑO DE SINDROME DOWN
ART IS PRIME together with the PHI ETA MU fraternity we bring an afternoon of great joy to the people of the Ponceño Institute of Down Syndrome. We really enjoyed painting beaches, making characters, drawing portraits, and talking about us. It was a beautiful activity.
We hope it will be repeated.
TEMBLORES EN EL SUR DE PUERTO RICO
Tras los temblores a inicio del año 2020 en el área sur de Puerto Rico, decidimos brindarle talleres de arte a las comunidades afectadas. Visitamos los pueblos de Sabana Grande, Guánica, Guayanilla, Peñuelas y Yauco. Cientos de personas perdieron sus hogares y otras temían seguir viviendo en sus casas. Mientras se resuelve como recuperar sus hogares, nosotros le brindábamos arte a los jóvenes y adultos como medio de relajación y reflexión.
